Joseph Funk (he/him) is a hard-hitting brass musician and composer/arranger from Toronto. He is known for his versatile artistry and technical musical ability that allow him to mkae waves in numerous genres like jazz, R&B, and other commercial music.

As a sideperson, he has worked with Grammy and Juno-winning musicians, including William Carn & Tara Davidson, Ernesto Cervini, Terri Lyne Carrington, Kae Murphy, and Alexis Baro. As a writer, he has contributed arrangements and compositions to artists such as bbno$, Chris Ma, Koven Wei, the Angela Pincente Jazz Orchestra, and the Live Video Game Orchestra. As a leader, he has appeared at the Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar, the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Markham Jazz Festival, and the Bourbon Street North Festival, and in 2025, he won Artist of the Year at the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival.

Joseph’s sound and unmistakable creative musical presence have led him to be one of the new distinctive musical voices in Toronto.
